I’m going to the Smooth Festival of Chocolate over the weekend and I could not be more excited. I may have to leave my wallet in the hands of someone I can trust, because there are too many stalls that I could send myself bankrupt at! Maybe I’ll see you there too?
I think I actually have a problem with my chocolate consumption – WAY too many of my childhood memories revolve around chocolate.
Every Easter at my house there is tonnes of chocolate (don’t believe me? Check out my Easter post!) and I have vivid memories of one of my cousins showing me, with great excitement, that leftover Easter eggs could be melted and spooned over icecream or eaten molten. That was a game changer.
Coming home from school to find mum had made my nan’s chocolate slice recipe was a weekly occurrence. It’s a simple little recipe, but it’s the kind of treat that nobody refuses.
Chocolate self saucing pudding. Sweet baby Jesus. This is one of my favourite things in the world. I once asked for SSP for my birthday cake. I was 15 at the time and adamant that I didn’t want a regular birthday cake. It was served warm so it melted the spindly candles that were put in there, but I regret nothing.
As the blog gets older, I’m building up a collection of new chocolate recipes to love as well. I get to experiment with new pairings, play around with different desserts, and then eat the results – what could be more enjoyable?
Here are some of my new favourite chocolate recipes:
